- Without a doubt one of my favorite programs for designing my metal work projects is Google Sketchup. If you can imagine it, you can draw it. Start by downloading this free app from Google. Once you have Sketchup installed, work your way through the tutorial videos, watch and watch again until you have mastered the concept. Youtube has many, many videos on this topic.
- This is a trailer that I 'Built' with Sketchup. I changed dimensions, lengthened the tounge, moved the axle forward, then back, until I was happy with the design. Then, with the help of a friend, we actually built this trailer. We pulled dimensions off the Sketchup drawing to create a bill of material to purchase at Alro Steel. After that, we used the same drawings to dimension all of our cut pieces and then just did it! I will be adding pictures of the actual build once I get them resized to fit on this page.
